Opeth is a progressive death metal band from Sweden. Opeth adds several lighter elements to their music, such as acoustic guitar interludes, influences from jazz, 1970s progressive rock, blues and folk. Vocalist Mikael Åkerfeldt performs both clean singing and death vocals. Due to their unique blend of melodic and progressive elements, they are said not to conform to any specific metal sub-genre.
